چکیده

Recently, Morgenstern et al. have proposed a new mathematical de nition of sequence alignment (Morgenstern et al.,1996). In this paper, we discuss this de nition in more detail. We demonstrate that it provides an appropriate conceptual framework in which problems arising in the context of sequence alignment can be treated systematically. 1

On certain semigroups of transformations that preserve double direction equivalence

Let TX be the full transformation semigroups on the set X. For an equivalence E on X, let TE(X) = {α ∈ TX : ∀(x, y) ∈ E ⇔ (xα, yα) ∈ E}It is known that TE(X) is a subsemigroup of TX. In this paper, we discussthe Green's *-relations, certain *-ideal and certain Rees quotient semigroup for TE(X).

FUZZY SUBGROUPS AND CERTAIN EQUIVALENCE RELATIONS

In this paper, we study an equivalence relation on the set of fuzzysubgroups of an arbitrary group G and give four equivalent conditions each ofwhich characterizes this relation. We demonstrate that with this equivalencerelation each equivalence class constitutes a lattice under the ordering of fuzzy setinclusion. Moreover, we study the behavior of these equivalence classes under theaction of a...

Interactions Between Equivalence Relations and the Development of Analytic Units

Two experiments investigated possible interactions between existing equivalence relations among stimuli and the acquisition of simple discriminations involving the same stimuli. During the first phase of Experiment 1, two adult humans learned two sets of six conditional relations among arbitrary visual stimuli designed to produce two independent sets of three, three-member equivalence classes (...

Topological structure on generalized approximation space related to n-arry relation

Classical structure of rough set theory was first formulated by Z. Pawlak in [6]. The foundation of its object classification is an equivalence binary relation and equivalence classes. The upper and lower approximation operations are two core notions in rough set theory. They can also be seenas a closure operator and an interior operator of the topology induced by an equivalence relation on a u...

Fuzzy number-valued fuzzy ‎relation

It is well known fact that binary relations are generalized mathematical functions. Contrary to functions from domain to range, binary relations may assign to each element of domain two or more elements of range. Some basic operations on functions such as the inverse and composition are applicable to binary relations as well. Depending on the domain or range or both are fuzzy value fuzzy set, i...
